Chandigarh [India], March 7: The CopConnect Cyber Wellness Clinic at Panjab University has been officially inaugurated, marking a significant milestone in cybersecurity education and victim support. Held at Panjab University’s South Campus, Sector-25, Chandigarh, this initiative is designed to provide critical cyber first aid, education, and assistance to victims of cybercrime.

By extending its expertise beyond corporate enterprises to educational institutions, Zscaler is empowering students and faculty with the knowledge and tools to combat cyber threats effectively.

Zscaler has been at the forefront of cloud-based cybersecurity, ensuring secure digital transformation for enterprises worldwide. Through this collaboration, the company is expanding its reach to foster cyber resilience at the academic level.

Our goal is to ensure victims receive immediate support and guidance, empowering them to take appropriate action.”
As part of this initiative,125 faculty members and students have been trained as Cyber Crime First Responders (CCFRs)at Panjab University. These responders will provide first aid for cybercrime incidents, ensuring quick intervention and guidance.
A Comprehensive Approach to Cyber Wellness
The Cyber Wellness Clinic functions as a dedicated center for cybersecurity support, addressing multiple aspects of digital safety, including:
- Cybercrime Victim Assistance:The clinic provides immediate support to victims, offering guidance on the next steps to mitigate risks.
- Cyber Crime First Responders: Trained individuals across the campus assist in addressing cyber fraud incidents.
- Hacked or Not Kiosk: A kiosk that helps users detect potential spyware or suspicious applications on their devices.
- Cyber Helpline Support: Victims are encouraged to call 1930 and report incidents through the NCRP portal for official police intervention.
- Workshops and Awareness Programs: Regular cybersecurity training sessions will be conducted to help students and faculty recognize and avoid cyber threats.
A Growing National Cybersecurity Initiative
The Cyber Wellness Clinic atPanjab Universityis part of a broader cybersecurity movement that started inBengaluru in May 2024. Since then, similar clinics have been launched inMysuru, Mangaluru, Delhi, and Chandigarh, withplans underway to establish another center at NITTTR Chandigarh.
